Why the name "bLog in Your Own Eye"?

Matthew 7:3 - 5 "Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye."

We should all endeavor to think rightly about ourselves and graciously about one another. We all have specks and logs in our eyes.

New Orleans, fireflies and froggies

Ok Val, I might as well share my passion for princess movies (especially the Princess and the Frog). So yes Valentine, that movie is amazingly good. When we saw it in theaters, I wasn't expecting it to be really good, but it was, and it fits right in with all the other Disney classics, if it's not better.

It takes place in New Orleans 60 or so years ago... I'm not sure the actual time. :) The music is great too. I could watch this movie over and over again. The only part in it I wasn't too fond of it the voodoo, but at least they present it as a bad thing. :) And my favorite character in the whole, entire movie is the firefly Ray.

Yes. I like love The Princess and the Frog. :) You really should watch it. Or even better, come visit me and we could watch it together. =P

Jousting, theft and exams

A lot has happened since my last post. So here I am to give an update.

First, you're probably wondering about the title, and thinking we may have been robbed. Nope. I was referring to the lovely, must-see movie my family just saw. If you know me very well, you know that I love old movies. L-O-V-E them. They are the best. The movie we saw (released 1966) is titled How to Steal a Million, and it stars Audrey Hepburn (gorgeous lady) and Peter O'Toole. It is a romantic comedy and it's definitely worth your time. Even my Dad liked it (and that means a lot, because he usually doesn't like those kinds of movies). So, right now, go find it somewhere and watch it. You will love it.

My youngest sister did a reading program a few months ago and won a coupon thing for a chance to go to a dinner theater called Medieval Times. It was the awesomest thing EVER. It is this huge castle-like building, that has medieval things everywhere. The give you paper crowns when you walk in, and tell you which knight to cheer for at the tournament (in our case, it was the Red and Yellow Knight). So we had Dragon Soup (tomato soup), a Baby Dragon (a big hunk of chicken), Dragon toes (half a potato), Dragon fingers (spare ribs), Dragon tongue (bread slice). And then an apple turnover that didn't have a fancy name. The food was good; and I think it was the first time I'd actually eaten dragon. ;) The acting was awesome. Everything was very well done. So if there is a Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament anywhere near you, be sure to visit it sometime. The only thing that bothered me about it, was how commercialized it was. The main room where you wait to be seated had gift stands on every wall. It was quite an eyesore. But other than that, it was great.

Then I have exams. I could use lots of prayer on them! I only have three and that's good. So I might not be posting for a while due to exams, then a trip right after exams. But I might find time to post something.

Half-Blood Prince

Well, I just got back from seeing "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", and I must say, it was AWESOME! :) I probably could say it was the best Harry Potter movie yet. Great acting, and though they changed the storyline a little, it was pretty much the same. I am really looking forward to the next two movies now, but it'll be sad when they're over. :( Anyway, everyone reading this (which is probably nobody) have a great weekend! =P

Coraline

I wrote this for a different blog, but I thought it'd be put to good use here as well:

I went to see the movie Coraline Saturday. The movie has gotten very good ratings from the critics, but the movie itself is TERRIBLE, so don't waste your money to see it! The storyline seemed as if the person who wrote it took a nightmare they had as a child, and added an ending that seemed to be a good one. I saw that it was made from a children's Horror book. I don't know what kind of sane kid would want to read a book that scares his pants off, but oh well.... I just thought i'd let people know!

BTW, here's a complete review from a Christian movie review site that's pretty reliable: http://www.pluggedinonline.com/movies/movies/a0004491.cfm

So........

Hello everyone! Sorry that I haven't posted in a while, I've been busy with school (you know how that can be...). But I'm catching up.....kind of........ Anyway, enough of that. I got to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and it was EXCELLENT!!! Usually with movies, when they make multiple sequels and all, the latest ones are terrible, but this one was not. If you loved the older Indy movies, then you'll be very happy with the latest! They had a great cast, including Harrison Ford who is one of the best actors ever. It also had a great storyline and plot, which pretty much makes the movie. They really just don't make movies like this anymore, so it was great for me to see that there are still some good movies left in the filmakers today. So, if you haven't seen it, and you loved the other Indy movies, then you definately need to see this one.

Fireproof

I saw Fireproof yesterday, and it is a MUST SEE!!!!!!! From the same people who created Facing the Giants and Flywheel, Fireproof is yet another excellent movie that you absolutely must see. If you haven't seen it, watch it. Even if you have seen it, watch it again, and again, and again.

Fireproof: The Movie

Hello Everyone out there in the world (or whoever is reading this)! I just thought I would keep you non-informed people informed about an upcoming movie called Fireproof. It stars Kirk Cameron and is produced by the same people who made Facing the Giants and Flywheel. View the trailer here. I must admit that I cannot write as good a review on Fireproof as my Uncle can on his blog, Basin and Towel since he has actually been able to see the movie, so I would suggest going there to read that post and all other posts which are of course worth reading since he is my uncle. Anyway, I am hoping to keep uninformed people informed and if you still need informing, please feel free to post a comment. Abster Out.

New Movies!

Prince Caspian is coming out in theaters in 4 days! I don't know about you, but I am definitely going to see the first showing of it! I really enjoy The Chronicles of Narnia and the books are absolutely worthwhile! The last movie (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe) stayed very close to the book except for a few minor changes and hopefully Prince Caspian will be the same. If you want anymore information on it, plus a very cool countdown clock, click here.

I am also a big Indiana Jones fan, and I'm really excited about the new one, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull which is coming out in 10 days. Sometimes the Indy movies are unpredictable, but I hope that this one will be worth my time and money if I decide to see it in theaters.

Anyway, I would highly encourage you to see (or read) Prince Caspian, and if I see it in theaters, I might be able to post a review of it here!
