Why the name "bLog in Your Own Eye"?

Matthew 7:3 - 5 "Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye."

We should all endeavor to think rightly about ourselves and graciously about one another. We all have specks and logs in our eyes.

Missions Weekend

This weekend was Missions Weekend at my Church. It was awesome. We had two missionary families, one soon heading to Bulgaria, the other working in Sweden. We also were able to Skype with some missionaries in other countries who weren't in the states this year. That was a neat experience too. So on Friday night, we had a dinner at church and had the missionaries speak. I helped a little with child-care so I didn't get to hear everything they said, but what I heard was neat. It really does take a lot to be missionaries, and I admire them for all they do. On Saturday, we had a picnic lunch which was kinda fun-ish, we didn't really do that much but that's OK. Then this morning we had a Continental breakfast at Church then we Skyped with some other missionaries. The missionary from Sweden preached a marvelous sermon that I enjoyed a lot. The same man is married to a Swedish lady who is very nice as well. AND....they have ten kids. Yes, ten. They beat the Browns by two. ;) Plus, the Mom is pregnant again. So it was really cool meeting them. We had lunch with them afterwords too which was a bit crazy with all those kids, but still enjoyable. And we found out that family is coming back to Charleston to visit a different supporting church and we're hoping we can hook up with them again. :) Overall, a very fun weekend, but very busy as well. I don't think I'm ready to start another week yet....

A blog award!!

So I was given an "award" from a friend but I never gave it to any one else(at least I can't remember whether I did or not...). So today I am going to give it to two awesome people. But first, this is the award, the Million Dollar Friend Award-

I guess you can just take it and paste it into a sidebar item. That's for you to figure out. :)

Well- the first person I'm giving this too is Valentine!!! Val is so awesome and I'm so thankful I've been able to know her. So here ya go Val!! :)

For the second person, I really don't want to give her this one, because she really needs the Priceless Friend Award, but that's OK- I'm thankful for her anyways. So here it is for Grayce, my wonderful sister. :)

There you have it folks, have a happy weekend!

No More Braces/ Is spring really almost here?

I got my braces off yesterday which is totally awesome. My teeth feel slimy and the retainer feels odd but at least the braces are off. :)

And, (at least here in SC) temperatures are starting to warm up. Not completely though, but the flowers in bloom sure make you want to believe it's spring. Around here, we have a lot of camellia bushes, and when they bloom they are gorgeous. Plus, we live in a neighborhood of somewhat "elderly" folk and a lot of them like gardening and they like to mix flowers so there are beautiful tye dye looking flowers around here. We also get azaleas but they bloom later that camellias. There is also this unknown flower right on our property line which is probably now my favorite flower ever. So here are some pictures for you to enjoy (at least I hope you enjoy them).

The flowers above are my favorites. The on below is a white camellia.

The red flower is also a camellia.

Happy Spring!

A song for you...

The Beatles. Lots of people like them, lots of people don't. Me? I could go either way depending on the song. This one that I'll post the lyrics for is one of my favorites, because it has a story. It's not just random words jumbled together. So here it is folks, Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da:

Desmond had a barrow in the market place,
Molly is the singer in a band.
Desmond says to Molly, girl I like your face
and Molly says this as she takes him by the hand.

Ob-la-di, ob-la-da, life goes on

La la how the life goes on. (repeat)

Desmond takes a trolley to the jeweller's store,
buys a twenty carat golden ring.
Takes it back to Molly, waiting at the door
and as he gives it to her she begins to sing.

chorus

In a couple of years they have built a home sweet home

with a couple of kids running in the yard
of Desmond and Molly Jones.

Happy ever after in the market place,
Desmond lets the children lend a hand.
Molly stays at home and does her pretty face
and in the evening she still sings it with the band.

chorus

OK, this little boy sings and plays the song for ya, so go check it out. :)

PS, that one line that's messed up is supposed to say 'In a couple of years they have built a home sweet home', I'm too lazy to figure out what's the matter with it.
