Well, I had a link up to a song I love, but after listening to it all the way through, the guy (who i've never heard of) added words to it that weren't in the original. Henceforth, the link will not be here any longer because he ruined the song by adding all that junk. Anywho, if you can find the old version (preferably the Donald O'Connor version) you should listen to it. :)

Why the name "bLog in Your Own Eye"?
Matthew 7:3 - 5 "Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye."
We should all endeavor to think rightly about ourselves and graciously about one another. We all have specks and logs in our eyes.
We should all endeavor to think rightly about ourselves and graciously about one another. We all have specks and logs in our eyes.

Jousting, theft and exams
A lot has happened since my last post. So here I am to give an update.
First, you're probably wondering about the title, and thinking we may have been robbed. Nope. I was referring to the lovely, must-see movie my family just saw. If you know me very well, you know that I love old movies. L-O-V-E them. They are the best. The movie we saw (released 1966) is titled How to Steal a Million, and it stars Audrey Hepburn (gorgeous lady) and Peter O'Toole. It is a romantic comedy and it's definitely worth your time. Even my Dad liked it (and that means a lot, because he usually doesn't like those kinds of movies). So, right now, go find it somewhere and watch it. You will love it.
My youngest sister did a reading program a few months ago and won a coupon thing for a chance to go to a dinner theater called Medieval Times. It was the awesomest thing EVER. It is this huge castle-like building, that has medieval things everywhere. The give you paper crowns when you walk in, and tell you which knight to cheer for at the tournament (in our case, it was the Red and Yellow Knight). So we had Dragon Soup (tomato soup), a Baby Dragon (a big hunk of chicken), Dragon toes (half a potato), Dragon fingers (spare ribs), Dragon tongue (bread slice). And then an apple turnover that didn't have a fancy name. The food was good; and I think it was the first time I'd actually eaten dragon. ;) The acting was awesome. Everything was very well done. So if there is a Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament anywhere near you, be sure to visit it sometime. The only thing that bothered me about it, was how commercialized it was. The main room where you wait to be seated had gift stands on every wall. It was quite an eyesore. But other than that, it was great.
Then I have exams. I could use lots of prayer on them! I only have three and that's good. So I might not be posting for a while due to exams, then a trip right after exams. But I might find time to post something.

The Lost Art of...
Cooking. I say it's a lost art because it is. I went on an economics field trip last week, and found out that less than half the food bought in the US is from grocers. People are going to restaurants more than buying and cooking their own food.
I live in the South (And yes, I'm proud of it). Southerners love food (I'm no exception). Way back then, when couples had 10 or more children, the mother would 1) need to know how to cook and 2) be able to cook enough (if not more) for everyone in her family. Now-a-days, these wonderful recipes have been passed down through moms and daughters, so that these foods will stay alive in our culture. The only thing is, with restaurants, most people don't bother to cook much anyways. What a shame this is, because I've had the food that has been passed down through generations, and boy, is it good. If a recipe can last a hundred years, do you think it's worth eating? You can decide that. Time is a great test.
For a few years, I could only cook cereal (with milk!) and Kraft mac and cheese. But, I am very thankful to say I can cook more now (e.g. peanut butter and jelly). Well, I might be exaggerating just a tiny bit, but I'm close enough. One thing I can make somewhat well is salsa. I'm not kidding. My family loves salsa (at least I do) so it doesn't last long. I also found a recipe from my Spanish teachers blog for Pico de Gallo, and I must say- it's great. Here is the recipe while your interested:
Anywho. Cooking truly is an art; I can tell even from the little (very minuscule amount) experience I've had. I am looking forward to a lifetime of learning how to make wonderful foods. And I encourage you, if you don't cook much, to break out of your comfort zone and try it out. It's fun. For those of you who do cook, keep at it. It will not go unappreciated.

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior
Here is a little thing about the ranks in the title. (From my Mom's highschool band teacher)
There is no purpose for those other than it's a nice thing to ponder.

Freshmen don't know, but they know that they don't know.
Sophomores don't know, but they think they know.
Juniors know, but don't know they know.
Seniors know, and they know that they know.

Cakes, Candles, and Presents, oh my!
Well, my birthday happened to be yesterday. It was great. My family is awesome, I love them so much. I'm not just saying that because of all the wonderful presents they gave me, but because they're always there for me.
The gifts: 2 Harry Connick Jr. cds, a volleyball, Poptarts, socks, a belt, super cute owl earrings, a Michael Buble cd, toothpaste (it was a convenient time to run out...), a cute t-shirt, some palmetto tree earrings aaannnddd wonderful time spent with my family. :) There are probably other things to add to this list, and sadly I can't remember everything. But it was all great.
Thanks to all my friends who sent me a note, y'all are awesome. :)
Anyway, I had a wonderful Friday. Not quite sure if I'm ready for another week of school, much less exams that are in a few weeks. So much to do, so little time. I have standardized testing Monday and Tuesday which will be "fun" (not really, more of kinda irksome). So a busy few weeks are ahead.
